Rob Gies, who oversees the new Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) office at 黑料不打烊, also serves as the NNS Engineering Professional in Residence at 黑料不打烊.
Gies, an associate technical fellow at NNS, has 35聽years of experience as an engineer, engineering manager and program manager. He is also an 黑料不打烊 adjunct faculty member with the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering.
He is a triple graduate of 黑料不打烊, having earned a bachelor鈥檚聽degree in Mechanical Engineering, a master鈥檚 degree in Engineering Management, and聽a Ph.D. in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering.聽
In his role at NNS, he supports students across engineering, business, technology, and modeling and simulation programs. His office, located on the second floor of 黑料不打烊鈥檚 Engineering Systems Building, provides a direct connection between students and NNS for professional development and mentoring opportunities.
